losing weight by walkingAre You Wanting to Lose Weight?

Are you having problems when it comes to losing weight? Don’t worry because you can solve your weight loss issues in an instant. With numerous programs all over the world, you might be confused on what type of exercise you need in order to completely solve your weight loss problem. To lose weight, you don’t need to spend a lot of money or to suffer from any inconveniences. As advised by doctors, the most effective and fastest way of losing weight is through walking.

It is said that walking is the best way of exercise and most people practice this regularly. Walking is not only good for your weight issues but for your overall health conditions as well. It is fun and exciting especially when you practice it along with your friends and colleagues. In the walking exercise, you don’t need to pay any membership fees to any fitness centers. So, how does losing weight walking work? If you want to know more details about this, the following are some of the tips that can significantly help you lose weight in just a short period of time.

4 Tips to Help You Lose Weight by Walking

Walk Continuously – If you have some walking exercise equipment at home, you can enjoy performing this exercise.  However, there are some cases wherein most people prefer to walk outside along with their colleagues. If you are one of them, then you need to practice walking continuously to burn more calories.  Start off with as little as 15  minutes.

• Walk Fast – Walking can also be performed in a faster way. For first-timers, they need to walk slowly until they get to change their routine. Brisk walking is one of the ways on how to quickly and effectively burn more body fats.

• Arm Swinging – The best way of losing weight while walking is by swinging your arms. This way, you can easily burn more fat in just a short period of time.

• Use Small Dumbbells and Ankle Weights – Losing weight walking can be performed faster if you are carrying small dumbbells and ankle weights because these can completely assist you in swinging your arms. However, using dumbbells must also accurately be done. 1 to 2 pounds per hand is all that is needed. I don’t advise using the weights until after walking at least two weeks.  By then, your body has gotten use to your new activity.

More Tips

These are some of the simple tips that you need to perform in order to achieve positive results when it comes to losing weight walking. With accurate application of these tips, you don’t need to worry about your body’s condition. You will also be able to achieve your preferred body weight.

Furthermore, you should also take note that losing weight through walking without the combination of a balanced diet will never lead to positive results. If you are planning to lose weight in an instant, you should completely know your limitations. This means that you should also have self-control to achieve your desired body figure.

Once you achieve your preferred weight, make sure that you continually practice  your new walking routine.  Losing weight walking does not have to be difficult.  As a matter of fact, the hardest part is starting.

Lose Your Butt

by admin on February 26, 2012

lose your buttWalking: A Great Gluteus Maximus Exercise

If your looking to spot train specific parts of your body, specifically your butt, then walking is the best exercise.  When you walk, at a moderate pace, then you rev up your metabolism to start burning more calories.  Combine this with a healthier eating plan with a reduction in calories, then you are sure to lose weight all over, which will include your butt.  By the way, spot training does not work.  Once you start seeing and feeling the first few pounds to fall off, you notice that your jeans are slightly baggier in the legs and butt areas.

Hit the Hills to Lose Your Butt

When your walking to lose weight, especially in your butt, then don’t just walk on your local bike trail.  Nothing against bike trails but since most were once rail road tracks, they are not very steep.  Pick a road that is not too busy with traffic but has some rolling hills.  Even fifteen degrees is good.  Walking at a moderate pace up and down inclines ‘tricks’ your brain that you have been walking uphill the entire time.

Again, by walking up hills and incorporating inclines into your walking routine, you are targeting your glutes.  Next, add some speed to your walking and you will burn even more calories that will help you lose your butt.

Another effective exercise that will help you lose weight in your butt is walking up steps.  If it is a beautiful day, I prefer to take the steps outside.  The more steps the better.  A lot of downtown areas have steps just like the pic to the left.  If you don’t have access to these no fear, you can go to your local sports stadium (professional or high school) and walk up the bleachers.  It will get you the same results.  What I like about walking up steps is that it is cheap and I feel the burn within the first couple of minutes.  No special equipment need except a good pair of shoes.  Note: I don’t wear my Ipod when I am hiking up and down steps because I don’t think it is safe.  Play it safe and give it your full attention.  Plus, you can check your time on your sports watch and see how many steps you can do within however long you give yourself to complete this task.  Be sure to log your results, even if just on a calendar.  You will not only get your speed up but will take in more steps in a shorter amount of time the more you practice this.

Finally, at the end of your exercise be sure to do a few stretches so that the gluteus maximus you just trained does not end of being strained.
